Upon arrival we were greeted by friendly smiles from all staff and were ushered to check-in counter immediately. Initially, I booked a Deluxe room but the morning before departure I called the resort and asked for an upgrade to a Family Studio and confirmed on the extra charge of USD45 per night but this was only available from second night onwards as the resort was full. However, we were lucky as there was one available when we arrived and more important was that we managed to negotiate with the resort for further discounts and eventually agreed with USD40 per night instead of USD45.
The room was spacious and fit us nicely with one king size bed and a double decker with one extra single bed as seen on the photo. It has two LCD TVs and a DVD player that can play on both TV sets. Other facilities are the standard ones you will find in any hotel room. The first thing we checked was the Qiblat sign and to our surprise it was there and after verifying against our compass, it pointed to the right direction. Next was to contact the hotel staff for solat time and my oh my they were fully aware of that too. Subuh was at 4.45am and men how I struggled to wake up. If not because of my wife I would surely miss it everyday. In Makkah, Subuh was at 4am but I had no problem to get up. I wonder.....
Then the shower. Very satisfactory. The pressure was good. All amenities were available. The room rate was inclusive of breakfast but we decided not to have breakfast at the hotel for halal/haram reason. We settled down early that night right after a simple dinner around 10 pm. There was no specific plans for the next day and we decided to hit the street of Kuta to get ourselves familiarized and see what's on offer.
1030 pm lights off.
